Baby on the Way

We got to spend an afternoon with Debbie, Neil and their soon-to-be little one. They have decided not to find out the sex of the baby until he/she is born. We headed out to the nearby park and grabbed a few shots, along with some shots of their dog Sammy. Then we headed indoors for a few shots of Mommy and Daddy to be, and a couple in the baby's nursery. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their baby. Until then, here are a couple shots from their maternity session.

CONTEST #1

Well we felt it was time we had a bit of a contest....one to see how many people are actually viewing the blog....and also as a way of saying thanks to those who continue to support us in our venture as photographers.

The first contest is going to be one where you have to be a little creative and get those brains working. Here's how it goes:

We are looking for you to come up with the best story/reason that you and/or your family or someone you love deserves a FREE photo shoot.....complete with all images on disc! Be as creative as you can. You can make your plea funny, sad, happy, sob story etc. It doesn't even have to be real.......we are looking for the most creative entry.

The entries must be no longer then 1 page typed and can be emailed to us at michelleb_1975@rogers.com (there is an underscore between the b and the 1)

The winner will receive a free photo session plus all images on disc. Value of over $100

Contest begins...........NOW..........and ends Nov. 30, 2008

You may enter for someone else (Ex: if you think your best friend deserves a shoot, tell us why YOU think he/she should win)

Sammy!

While doing a maternity shoot we got to meet one of the cutest dogs I have ever seen. Sammy was so adorable that we couldn't resist capturing some individual shots of him. Here are our favourites.

April and Andrew

What a great couple April and Andrew are. We had such a great time with them. They were fun and totally open to trying out some wild and crazy ideas. We even got a few shots of them with their beautiful niece Faith. As of right now, they are a little nervous about posting pictures of themselves on the internet, so stay tuned in case they change their mind :)

Baby David

While shooting Michelle and her family we also got to meet her brother, sister-in-law and their adorable baby boy David. David was full of smiles and we got some great shots of him as well as Mom and Dad. Here are a couple samples

We received a call from Michelle wanting to know if we could get some shots of her little ones who are ages 3, 2, and 1. Boy did they keep us on our toes :) What a beautiful family they are. With special thanks to some 'frogs, gum, promises of McDonald's and peek-a-boo' we got some great shots of these little guys.

Engaged! Staisha and Brad

We received an email a few weeks ago from Staisha about needing a wedding photographer. We met with her and Brad at Tim Horton's and hit it off perfectly. They are the most fun and loving couple you'll ever meet. They were all for our crazy ideas and poses.....and even suggested a few of their own crazy ideas. We headed out to the most beautiful spot for fall photos and captured some engagement pictures for them. We are so looking forward to being a part of their special day in August. Until then here are a couple shots of their engagement.

The Parkers

So every now and then I feel the need to get on the other side of the camera and capture some moments in our own lives. Our daughter is 13 and growing up wayyyyyyyyy toooooooo fast and our son is 2. It is very rare that we are all together on a weekend, so of course I took the opportunity to set the timer on the camera and grab a couple of us up north.

Baby Benjamin

Sarah and Ryan welcome their baby Benjamin into the world only a few short weeks ago. What a gorgeous baby he is! We could have stayed for hours taking pics of Ben and all his chubby little rolls :)

My favourite pictures are always the individual ones of a new parent and their child. I have to say that the picture I chose to document Benjamin and his Mom is absolutely beautiful. You can totally see the love and admiration she has for her little boy. The photo we chose for Ryan and Ben is a perfect example of how a picture does say a thousand words. Just by looking at these two together you could hear all the wonderful dreams and aspirations he has for his son.

Aaron the Model

So a good friend of mine needed some headshots and a few fun poses to use in his portfolio for theatre performances. We begin with the traditional headshots then some sexy and fun poses. We finished up with some outdoor pics with one of his dream cars......a porshe! Here are a couple shots that I like the best.

First Birthday Backdrop and Props

We've decided that we would like to create a backdrop with props for each of the occassions of the year. We started with first birthday.

A first birthday session with us will include a bouquet of balloons and a special gift for the birthday boy or girl. Your photos will be done on the black and/or white backdrop. Included with the backdrop will be your balloon bouquet, lots of gift wrapped presents, a fun to be one ball, lots of balloons to play with and of course a special birthday hat.

The fun to be one ball in designed in blue for boys and pink for girls.

A cake can be brought in for some birthday fun, but must be supplied by the parents due to allergies. Contact us today for a birthday session :)

Jacob turns 1

One of our very first clients came back for their son's 1st birthday photos. Although Jacob was more interested in running away from the camera, we did manage to get a few great shots of him. We are looking forward to watching Jacob grow and capturing his memories for many years to come.

Welcome Matteo

We joined Frank and Maggie to take some family portraits with their new baby boy Matteo. What a beautiful family they are. Matteo was so cooperative and so were his Mommy and Daddy. There is nothing more beautiful then a new baby bonding with his/her parents. Here are a few of our favourites from Matteo's session.

Playing Catch-Up and Saying Thanks

Ok so I've been a very bad blogger over the last month or so. It has been a crazy whirlwind for us at MBP Photography. Business is taking off like crazy plus I've also returned to my full-time job with the school board. Needless to say I am now going to take some time and try to add a few samples from the numerous shoots we've done in the last few weeks.

Here is also where we get to say a special thank you to our clients and to those who have referred us to their family and friends. We had no idea what an experience this would be. It is such an amazing feeling to be able to take part in some of the most memorable days in a person's life.

We look forward to the future and documenting the lives of our clients through photos.

And Baby Makes 4

We had the pleasure of travelling out to Markham to welcome Kaitlynn into the Ly family. Her big brother Tyler was a little shy at first, but quickly warmed up to posing for the camera. By the end of the shoot he was using Daddy's camera and helping to become my assistant. Towards the end of the shoot, Anna's extended family showed up and we were able to capture the 4 generations of women along with a large family of 13 photo.
